In fact, she's got just enough knowledge of what she was to be dangerous. Lisa Trevor isn't a mindless monster that merely haunts Raccoon City but is in fact, one of the very first mutated humans who still retains some of that humanity. Trevor is a character that didn't appear in the very first game, but has been around the Resident Evil universe for quite a while at this point, first appearing in the remake that launched on the Nintendo GameCube back in 2002. One of the "monsters" featured in the new Welcome to Raccoon City trailer is none other than Lisa Trevor. There is also a detail that seems to hint just how close to the Resident Evil games this film is aiming to stay. One of the shots does show a zombie chowing down on someone, but there's also a very toothy "Licker" that looks quite a bit more formidable than the Jovovich films' version of that monster. Chris and Claire are still prominent and there are some aspects from the previous Welcome to Racoon City trailers that are shown again, but there's also quite a bit of new footage in the most recent video. Sony is calling the most recent trailer "Nightmares" and it doesn't take long to figure out why. However, this time around it looks like fans are going to get a bit more of a variety of creatures that the film's protagonists will have to take on. Resident Evil movies have always been full of monsters and it appears that Welcome to Raccoon City is going to be no different in that regard. While the first couple of trailers for Welcome to Raccoon City focused on Chris and Claire Redfield, the most recent trailer is all about the creatures they're going to have to fight through.
The newest Resident Evil is taking a different tact than the Milla Jovovich films, but that doesn't mean Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City is straying that far away from what fans love about the franchise.
